Starting ABA therapy is an important step in your child’s journey, and we’re here to make the process as smooth as possible. Here’s a guide to help you understand what to expect when working with Mosaic.
When you first reach out to Mosaic, you’ll speak with our intake team. We’ll take time to understand your child’s unique needs, answer all your questions about ABA therapy, and gather the essential information needed to begin your journey. From there, we’ll start working on insurance verification and scheduling your child’s clinical assessment, ensuring a smooth transition into our program.
Our team works directly with your insurance provider to:
Your child’s initial assessment with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a comprehensive evaluation designed to understand your child’s needs and abilities. These assessments can take up to 2 hours, and during this time, we’ll discuss your goals and concerns as a family, evaluate your child’s current skills, and identify areas where additional support would be beneficial. This allows us to recommend the most effective therapy approach and schedule for your child’s success.
Based on your child’s assessment, your child’s BCBA will develop a personalized treatment plan that carefully considers your child’s unique needs and your family’s goals. This comprehensive plan outlines specific skill development objectives, teaching strategies, recommended therapy schedules, recommended therapy hours, and ways we’ll measure progress. We’ll also include parent training components to ensure you have the tools to support your child’s development at home.
As your child begins services, you can expect:
Mosaic welcomes parents to observe their child’s sessions in our clinics, as well as to visit our clinics before beginning services. It is not necessary to remain within the building during your child’s sessions. You always have the option to drop off your child at the start of their session and pick them up at the end of the session, knowing that they’re in the wonderful care of our team the whole time.
Our clinics are thoughtfully designed to create an environment where your child can learn, grow, and thrive. We provide a structured, school-like setting that includes safe spaces for both focused learning and play. Children have natural opportunities to interact with peers while following consistent daily routines that help build confidence and independence.
Each therapy session includes:
We believe that consistent communication is key to your child’s success. You’ll have access to regular updates from your clinical team through daily session notes, monthly team meetings with your BCBA, and written progress reports. We will also provide training and access to resources that help you support your child’s development at home.
We continuously track your child’s development:
Supporting your entire family is central to our approach. Through regular training sessions, we’ll provide you with strategies and resources to help your child generalize their skills across different environments. Our team will work closely with you to understand your family’s needs and provide the tools and support necessary for success.
As your child progresses, we regularly review and adjust their treatment plan to ensure continued growth and development. Through careful data analysis and ongoing dialogue with your family, we’ll update your child’s goals to modify their programs to match evolving needs and celebrate their achievements along the way.
