CAST Autism Screening Tool

Contact Us

The Childhood Autism Spectrum Test (CAST) is a social and communication development questionnaire used to screen children ages 4 and up for autism spectrum disorder. If your child is younger than 4, please visit our M-CHAT page.

Once complete, your results will be emailed to you along with recommended next steps.

The CAST is designed to be the first step in a diagnostic process, which may also include the ADOS-2 assessment (a more thorough evaluation of your child conducted in person by one of our highly trained clinicians). A referral from your child’s doctor is required to schedule the ADOS-2, which is intended to be used as a component of their diagnostic process. To inquire about ADOS-2 testing, please click here.

The CAST questionnaire was developed by the ARC (the Autism Research Centre) at the University of Cambridge
